Dear SRBCE members,
The Society for the Study of Reproduction has made it their two top priorities of their membership committee over the past few years to increase SSR membership in under-represented groups and to increase their global impact in reproductive biology. They recently achieved these goals by seeking affiliations with other reproductive biology societies, and we are pleased to announce the addition of the SRBCE as one of their new affiliate societies. Society for the Study of Reproduction (SSR): The Society for the Study of Reproduction (SSR) was founded in 1967 to promote the study of reproduction by fostering interdisciplinary communication among scientists, holding conferences, and publishing meritorious studies. Today, their members come from 50 countries around the world.
SSR’s Mission: Advance the Science of Reproduction, Fertility, and Development for the Benefit of Humans and Animals
SSR’s Vision: A Sustainable World Through the Science of Reproduction, Fertility, and Development
Reproductive biologists who are members of one of their affiliate societies may become an affiliate SSR member at the low price of $50 per year ($20 for pre/post-doc). This will provide affiliate members with direct access to the SSR online community and searchable member directory. In addition, they will receive SSR e-newsletters and early notification of the call for abstracts. These benefits are anticipated to entice a subset of their affiliate members to become regular members (or trainee members, if they qualify), where they will then receive full SSR membership benefits, including discounts for annual meeting fees, publication in Biology of Reproduction, and the privilege to vote and hold office on SSR committees.
They are still searching for additional international societies with whom to partner. If you know of such a society, please contact them at membership@ssr.org. They are eager to build new relationships with reproductive biology groups around the world.
