At the 115th annual meeting of the Society for Reproduction and Development, held online in September, the 2022 SRD awards were presented to each winner.

SRD Outstanding Research Award

The SRD Outstanding Research Award is given for outstanding basic and applied research in animal reproduction. The SRD Award Committee has selected the following member as the winner in 2022:

Kimiko INOUE (Bioresource Research Center, RIKEN)
Elucidation of abnormalities induced by somatic cell nuclear transfer techniques and development of methods for their improvement

SRD Young Investigator Award

The SRD Young Investigator Award is given for outstanding research in animal reproduction which was performed by an exceptionally promising young investigator who has not reached the age of 40 before April 1st of the year when the award is presented. The SRD Award Committee has selected the following member as the winner in 2022:

Takuo HOJO (Kyushu Okinawa Agricultural Research Center, NARO）
Programmed cell death in structural luteolysis: apoptosis and necroptosis

SRD Outstanding Presentation Award

The SRD Outstanding Presentation Award is given for outstanding oral presentations at the annual meeting of SRD. The chair of the 115th annual meeting of SRD selected the following four members as the winners in 2022:

• Terumichi Kawahara (Graduate School of Agricultural Science, Tohoku Univ) for "Analysis of maintenance mechanism of spermatogonial stem cells in aged mouse".
• Takuya Omotehara (School of Medicine, Tokyo Med Univ) for "Comparative morphology on the development of the rete region among male vertebrates".
• Shizu Aikawa (Graduate School of Medicine, The University of Tokyo) for "Uterine glandular Lif governs gene expressions in luminal epithelia to facilitate embryo attachment during early pregnancy".
• Hinata Koyama (Graduate School of Agriculture, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology) for "The blastocyst formation of single early blastomeres in cattle".
