Award

At the 113th annual meeting of the Society for Reproduction and Development, held online in September, the 2020 SRD awards were presented to each winner.

SRD Outstanding Research Award

The SRD Outstanding Research Award is given for outstanding basic and applied research in animal reproduction. The SRD Award Committee has selected the following members as the winner in 2020:

Takeshi OSAWA (University of Miyazaki) for “Endometrial environment and fertility in the cows”,and
Ken SAWAI (Iwate University) for “Roles of cell differentiation factors in preimplantation development of domestic animals”.

SRD Outstanding Presentation Award

The SRD Outstanding Presentation Award is given for outstanding oral presentation at the annual meeting of SRD. Chair of the 113th annual meeting of SRD selected the following five members as the winners in 2020:

  • Keigo NAKAMURA (Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, The University of Tokyo) for “IFNTindependent effects of intrauterine extracellular vesicles (EVs) in pregnant cattle”,
  • Ryoki TATEBAYASHI (Graduate School of Bioagricultural Sciences, Nagoya University) for “Gene expression analysis and postpartum transition of bovine endometrial side population cells”,
  • Asuka FURUTA (Laboratory for Epigenetic Regulation, Nagahama Institute of Bio-Science and Technology) for “Organelle change during the conversion of ES cells to 2-cell stage like cells”,
  • Kenya IMAIMATSU (Department of Veterinary Anatomy, The University of Tokyo) for “Molecular and cellular mechanisms of ovarian cord formation in a female-to-male sex reversal process of fetal mouse testes”,
  • Satoshi FUNAYA (Department of Integrated Biosciences, Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, The University of Tokyo) for “Histone variants H3.1/3.2 are involved in gene expression during mouse preimplantation development”.
