牛海綿状脳症（BSE）と牛受精卵移植に関する
国際受精卵移植学会（IETS）の声明
健康と安全に関する諮問委員会は11月2日に会合を持ち、牛の生体内受精卵とBSEに関する再調査を行い、以下の宣言を出しました。
『BSE感染牛からの受精卵採取実験からの情報（現在投稿準備中）によれば、受精卵移植によるBSEの伝播は起きない。IETSは、牛受精卵の国際移動のためのガイドラインをこの情報に基づき改正するよう規制に関わる団体（the regulatory community）に奨励する。』

Declaration of the IETS on bovine embryos and BSE
The Health and Safety Advisory Committee of the International Embryo Transfer Society met on November 2nd, 2001, reviewed the issue on in vivo derived bovine embryos and bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) and released the following statement:
”Information from the trial involving embryos collected from BSE infected cattle, which is in preparation for publication, strongly indicates that transmission of BSE by embryo transfer does not occur. The International Embryo Transfer Society encourages the regulatory community to quickly adopt guidelines for the international movement of bovine embryos respecting this information.”
