Meeting
The 111th SRD Meeting will be held at Shinshu University Ueda Campus from 12th to 16th September 2018. The Organizing Committee is pleased to invite you to the SRD Annual Meeting. Updated information of the 111th SRD meeting is available at http://fiber.shinshu-u.ac.jp/hochi/srd111/index.html.
Four symposiums are scheduled; "Organelle dynamics in reproductive biology" organized by Dr. Satoshi Tsukamoto (12th September), "Wide application of chimeric animals" organized by Dr. Masumi Hirabayashi and "Old but new reproductive technologies in domestic animals" organized by Dr. Masayuki Shimada (13th September), and "Focus on advanced technologies for animal reproduction" organized by Dr. Kazuhiro Kikuchi (Japan-Korea-China Joint Symposium; 16th September). In addition, an open seminar entitled "Female scientists leading reproductive science" is organized by Dr. Seiji Takashima, which is concurrently scheduled on the 16th September.

May 11th (Friday) to June 6th (Wednesday) JST 14:00
Abstracts for both regular presentation (oral or poster session) and those for the competitive oral session for the SRD Outstanding Presentation Award (long version of abstract are required, see below) must be submitted online by the presenters during the above-mentioned term. They must be written in English or Japanese. The first author and presenter must be members of the SRD. For the membership registration process, please contact the SRD office (info@reproduction.jp). Foreign first authors/presenters who belong to the institutions in abroad countries are exceptionally acceptable regardless of the SRD membership.
The title and abstract should be completed in English within 140 and 1720 letters including spaces, respectively (alternatively within 70 and 860 letters in Japanese). No figures and tables are acceptable. To apply for the competitive presentation for the SRD Outstanding Presentation Award, an additional abstract (long version) for the primary evaluation must be prepared within 3200 letters (in English) and submitted online as an attached file. Figures and tables cannot be included in this formatted abstract.
Please choose one of the following presentation format options as the presenter’s preference; 1) Oral presentation, 2) Poster presentation, or 3) Either presentation is preferred (the presenters will accept the organizing committee’s decision). If the presentation format needs to be changed, the committee will inform the presenter about the change.
- 8. Presentation Methods
- Oral presentations: 10-min presentation with 5-min discussion will be allocated to each presentation. Several days prior to the presentation, each presenter should submit a PDF file for his/her presentation to the 111th SRD Meeting Organizing Committee via email (srd111@shinshu-u.ac.jp). Otherwise (upon request), his/her own laptop computer can be directly connected to on-site projector.
Poster presentations: For each of even and odd numbered posters, 90-min discussion time will be allocated. Poster boards (120-cm height, 90-cm width) and attaching materials (magnets or double-faced adhesive tapes) are prepared. - 9. Qualification and Evaluation for the SRD Outstanding Presentation Award
- Age of candidates should be 32 or less as of 1st April 2018. There are two separate categories (category 1 for student members and category 2 for young regular members) in the award competition. For the latter category, no situation limited: e.g., salaried or unsalaried, regular staff or not, full-time or part-time worker, degree (bachelor, master or doctor). The person who engaged the position beside scientific activities can also apply. However, once awarded in the past, he/she cannot apply within the next 2 years.
Evaluation: the abstracts (long version) prepared for the primary evaluation are reviewed by several experienced members of SRD. In each category, 5-6 applicants will be selected and make presentations in the competitive oral session for the final evaluation, which will be held on September 13 (Thu). The several presentations will finally be selected for the award by the evaluators (councilors of SRD).
